Privacy Policy

Sportrs ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This privacy policy explains which personal data we collect, why we do so, how we use it and what rights you have.

The controller responsible for your data is GIBS BV (trading under the name Sportrs), located at Gevers Deynootweg 66, 2586 BN The Hague, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 28115544.

1. What data do we collect?

Account data: first name, last name and phone number (mobile number). We do not use an email address or password.
Team membership: which club, team and role you have (player, parent, coach, team manager).
Chat messages: messages you send in team chats, group chats and private conversations, including photos and videos.
Attendance: your attendance status for trainings and matches.
Match data: goals, assists, cards and other match statistics.
Device data: push-notification tokens so we can send you notifications.
Usage data: anonymous statistics about app usage (such as sign-in moments) to improve the service.

2. What do we use your data for?

To give you access to your team and club environment.
To deliver messages to teammates and parents.
To keep match reports, statistics and standings.
To send your sign-in link via WhatsApp (through Twilio).
To send push notifications about team activities.
To improve the app based on anonymous usage.

3. Do we share data with third parties?

Twilio: for sending WhatsApp messages (only your phone number and the message text).
Expo (EAS): for push notifications (only your push token and message content).
A2 Hosting: our hosting provider where the database is stored.
Google (Analytics): for anonymous visitor statistics of the website, only after your consent and with an anonymised IP address.

We never sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

4. How long do we keep data?

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are kept for as long as the chat exists. If you have your account deleted, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised statistics (match results, team standings) may be retained.

5. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all communication. Passwordless sign-in via WhatsApp magic links reduces the risk of data breaches from stolen passwords. Access to the database is limited to authorised administrators.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Object to the processing of your data.
Request transfer of your data to another service.

7. Cookies and analytics

The Sportrs app does not use cookies. The web version (sportrs.nl) uses functional cookies for signing in and session management.

In addition, we measure — only with your consent — anonymous website visits with Google Analytics, so we can improve the website. On your first visit we ask via a cookie notice whether you agree. If you refuse or do not give consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are placed. Your IP address is anonymised in the process. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with advertisers.

8. Children

Sportrs may be used by minors as part of their sports club. Parents have insight into their child's team activities via their parent account. We do not collect more data from minors than is necessary for the use of the app.

9. Changes

We may adjust this privacy policy from time to time. In the event of significant changes, we will inform you via the app. The latest version is always available on this page.
